Start the five Tibetan wisdoms by NB Europe

za., september 16, 2023
10:00 am - 12:15 pm

In the fall of 2023 there will be organized a course about the five Tibetan wisdoms by NB Europe. There will be 7 meetings on Saturday mornings (10.00 – ±12.15 hours). The dates are September: 16th and 30th (1, 2); October: 14th and 28th (3, 4); November: 11th and 25th (5, 6); and December: 9th (7).

The five wisdoms are five ways in which we can manifest ourselves in this world. We can do that in an open and in a closed way. If we open, we are connected to the world. If we do it in a closed way, we are disconnected and are traveling though the six realms. In the Vajrayana approach and in the bardos of living and dying there is a possibility to free us from samsara through the practice of the five wisdoms. The emphasis in this course is about the five wisdoms in our daily life.”

The origin of the five wisdoms is related to a more advanced form of Buddhism: the Vajrayana part of Tibetan Buddhism. Because of that it is nice to have some background information about Buddhism. That can relate to study and/or practice. At the same time the applications of the five wisdoms in daily life can be very practical. So is nice to be able to balance these two a little.

A symbol of the five wisdoms is the wisdom flags: the flags in five colours, as you find them in Tibet and elsewhere.

Last day for registration: The 9th of September

If participants need translation into German or have questions please contact: Akasha-Europe@nalandabodhi.org

The teachings will be recorded and available for participants until the Tuesday after.

About Sebo Ebbens
Sebo Ebbens is a Buddhist in the Nalandabodhi tradition. He had the opportunity to teach at Naropa University in Boulder, USA, for around ten years. There he got familiar with the five wisdoms. These wisdoms are part of the mission of that University. He wrote on base of his experiences a book about the five wisdoms (unfortunately only available in Dutch). He does teach about that book regularly, and about the other 2 books he wrote (one abut compassion, and one about the Tibetan Book of the Dead).
