“Just as it is possible to obtain the silver that is in ore, the oil that is in sesame seeds, and the butter that is in milk, so is it possible to attain the buddhahood that is in all sentient beings”
GAMPOPA
Gampopa was the foremost student of the great yogi Milarepa and is well-known for uniting the Kadam tradition and the Mahāmudrā teachings in the Kagyü lineage. His work, Ornament of Precious Liberation (also translated as Jewel Ornament of Liberation), is the treasure of the Kagyü lineage, and is highly respected and studied by all Buddhist traditions.
Please join us for the Online Study Group under the guidance of Karma Ösung Gyaltsen. We will be reading Gampopa’s Ornament of Precious Liberation, translated by Ken Holmes and edited by Thupten Jinpa (2017).
Gampopa’s Ornament of Precious Liberation will be studied in a contemplative and participatory manner. Karma Ösung will offer introductory notes and practices to bring this precious work into one’s own experience. Participants will be invited (on a voluntary basis) to prepare and present a chapter section to the group, with questions, and discussion will be encouraged.
Recordings will be made available soon after each session for two weeks (till the next session).
Please register via the form below.
This course is offered free of charge and if you have a tight budget we encourage you to register for free. However, if you can spare something we’d very much appreciate it if you make a donation to the teacher Karma Ösung.
Your assistance helps him pay for his studies, travels and with teaching our sangha.
